Microsoft will use a pop-up to inform you that Windows XP support is ending
6th March 2014
As you may have seen from our post on the 20th April 2013 Microsoft will soon stop supporting Windows XP on the 8th April 2014.
As a result of this Microsoft will be displaying a pop-up warning from the 8th of March to encourage people that are still using Windows XP to move to a newer Operating System that is still supported.
Included in this pop-up will be a link to a page with details about the end of Windows XP support which including what you’ll be missing out on like Windows Security Essentials updates, security updates, etc. There will also be some encouragement to upgrade your PC or operating system to Windows 8.1.
To help you migrate your data to a newer Operating System Windows 7 or Windows 8, Microsoft has partnered with Laplink to provide Windows XP users with PCmover Express for Windows XP.
If you are about to or have just bought a new PC or laptop and you would like your date transferred give Norfolk Computers a call on 0845 5440324 or fill in our Contact Form to arrange an appointment.
