After the recent release of Windows 8 the general opinion from my customers has been that Winodws 8 is a bit of a Marmite operating system you either love it or hate it.
If you are one of the many people out there that is fed up beta testing Microsoft’s software for them and are wondering what non Microsoft alternatives there are. I can recommend a version of Linux called Ubuntu.
Ubuntu is one of the most accessible and beginner-friendly Linux distributions there is, with all of the features that you would expect from a modern operating system like Web apps, Personal cloud storage With 5GB of storage included, which can be upgrade to 20GB for around £20 a year.
Unlike Windows Ubuntu comes with a full set of office applications included and best thing of all its free!
If you’re not yet sure if you are ready to give up windows and install Ubuntu you will be pleased to know that you can now try it out without affecting your current system. You can do this by downloading and running Ubuntu from a DVD or USB stick so why not give it a try?
